Dana Christenson and her children, Chloe and Conner

Tell us about your family: I have 2 children. 1 boy that’s 8 named Conner and 1 girl that’s 10 named Chloe. I enjoy watching my kids participate in school activities such as football, wrestling, and Tae Kwon Do. We also enjoy fishing, going on trips, and having game/movie nights.

Where do you work/what do you do? I work at Rewind in Perham as the House Manager of the Women’s house. I have worked in Chemical Dependency for almost 10 years.

How long have you been on the ambulance service? I joined the Ambulance (doing ride alongs) in 2018. I became a certified EMT in 2019. I joined because I enjoy helping people in my community. I enjoy being there to render aide to a community member in need of help (day or night). Even if the outcome isn’t how we wanted, we always show up and do our best. The Ambulance crew is like another family. We all have each other’s back and will do almost anything for each other.

What do you enjoy about being on the department? I would say the most rewarding part of being on the service is knowing that you are there to support/help somebody having one of the worst days of their life. Not expecting anything in return. Having somebody come up to you at a local business and thanking you for what you did for their loved one is a feeling that you can’t describe.
