wo new benches will continue to share the long lasting memory of Jacob Quam in the Henning community. The Vining teenager was killed in a car accident in 2017 and the Henning Rod and Gun Club installed new benches at the Henning Rifle Range last week. Quam was a member of the local trap team while he was in high school.

“Jacob was in the trap league so we thought it would be a good thing to have something out there attributing to what he did.”

The benches were made by students in Eli Hill’s shop class at Henning School last year. The students welded the benches, engraved them and got them ready to install at the rife range.

Having the benches to continue the memory of Quam, while also being a partnership with students at the school, was something Helle said was a win-win for the rod and gun club and school.

“It’s a great tribute and we love to see the kids out there so it was a great thing all of the way around,” he said.
