There are still a few spaces remaining for the Bill and Mimi Seykora RAKU pottery workshop at Landmark on Saturday, Oct. 16. Two groups will meet at 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. to choose a pre-made ceramic pot, have it fired in an outdoor kiln, then have you add designs by burning horsehair and feathers to the hot pot. This is fast moving and exciting, perfect for a cool fall day. 

A $35 registration fee includes ceramic pot pf your choice, instruction, and all materials needed to add your RAKU designs. Space is limited, so please call ahead to 548-5760 in order to RSVP.

Our readers group will meet 2-4 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 26 to discuss “Angela’s Ashes.” Copies of this book are available for those wishing to join the discussion. 

The Viking Library Bookmobile also make a visit to Henning on October 26 from 3:30-4:45 p.m. in from of the Landmark Station building. 

Former Landmark director, Sharon Thalmann, is producing and directing a play entitled “The Lion in Winter.” She will bring the production to Henning for a presentation to Henning School students, then an evening performance at Trinity Center, October 28 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults, and $10 for youth. Call the Landmark Center at 548-5760 to reserve your tickets.

Thank you to all who attended our Pie and Pumpkin Oktoberfest on Saturday. A special thanks to all the pie makers and volunteers that helped with serving pie and ice cream, painting pumpkins, to Brad Wegsheid and his Scriblletastic Fun-O-Matic Command Post and to those who contributed to our pumpkin patch. 

Thanks also to Fred Keller and Tim Cheesebrow of The Skally Line for some foot stomping Bluegrass in the living room, and having our local Alec Larson join you for this performance. We would love to have you back again.
