Birthdays are so fun.  When elementary students have their birthday they look forward to their name being read over the intercom.

Mrs. Cichy puts on the school announcements, that scroll on the big screen tv’s in the hallways, the birthday students’ names of that day.  The post secondary students were visiting last spring about how they miss having their birthday celebrated and handing out special treats to their class.

This year we decided that here in the library during PSEO hours, we would celebrate the students’ birthdays and make it a little extra special.  So far this year, we have had four birthdays, where we have enjoyed either cupcakes, ice cream sundaes, or ice cream bars.  The students look forward to this and have a few moments of fun handing out their birthday treats to their classmates.

We have a set of twins that normally celebrate their birthday in July, but this year, each twin will get their own day to celebrate just for themselves! All summer birthdays have been given a school year birthday instead so that all students are able to participate. During the hard study time of college classes it is nice to take a break once in a while to enjoy the moment and celebrate with our friends.

Come on up to the Henning Public School library and let us fix you a cup or coffee or tea and help you to find a perfect book for the fall weather. We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:30-5:30 p.m. following the school calendar.
