Name: Katelyn Zillmer

Tell us about your family: I live in Rochester during the school year with my brother and with my parents during the summer and breaks.

What are some of your hobbies? Water bottle collecting, volleyball and hiking. 

Where do you work/what do you do? I’m a full time student at the University of Minnesota Rochester pursuing a career as a Physician’s Assistant. I also work at Tri-County Hospital in Wadena as an emergency department technician. 

How long have you been on the ambulance service? I’ve been apart of the ambulance service since June 2021.

Why did you join the ambulance service? I joined the ambulance service to help out in my community and to get more experience in the medical field. 

What do you enjoy about being on the department? Telling dad jokes to the other EMTS during our monthly meetings and meeting people from EMS crews in our surrounding area. 

What has been the most rewarding part of being on the ambulance service? Realizing how much I enjoy emergency medicine and being able to surround myself with others who enjoy it too.
