lHenning HOPE has embarked upon their Winterwear Project for youth in the Henning School District.  Applications have been sent home through the school.  Applications can be returned to the school, dropped off at Good Shepherd Church, or mailed to Henning HOPE, PO Box 524, Henning, MN 56551.  Applications must be returned by Oct. 8.  Please consider returning the applications as soon as possible as we don’t know when mother nature will send us cold weather.

The plan is to distribute the items on Oct. 23 at the Trinity Center. Henning HOPE is asking local residents to encourage people in need to fill out an application.

Donations are being accepted to help with this project.  Totes have been placed at MBI Agency, City Hall, and the following churches-Good Shepherd, St. Edward’s, St. Paul’s, Waters Edge, and St. John’s at Ottertail.  Coats, snowpants, hats, mittens, and boots are being collected.  Cash donations would also be appreciated.

Shopping for the remaining items needed will occur after Oct. 8.

Henning HOPE is partnering with the United Way of Otter Tail and Wadena Counties.  Gently used or new coats may be donated. The United Way will share donations of new coats they receive with Henning HOPE.  Henning HOPE will share gently used items with the United Way.

Henning HOPE appreciates the support of the community to help meet the needs of youth in the Henning School District.
