Landmark to host basket weaving class

0Artist Mary Smith will host a one-day Basket Weaving workshop at the Landmark Center on Saturday, Sept. 25 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. A $40 registration fee includes all materials and instruction needed to create your own 10×10” basket using natural and dyed reeds. No prior experience is necessary. Please call 548-5760 to RSVP.
Our readers group, Beverage and a Book, will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 28 from 2-4 p.m. to discuss “The Joy Luck Club.” Copies of this book are available at the Landmark Center for those wishing to join the discussion.
The annual Landmark Pie and Pumpkin Oktoberfest is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 9 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with fresh baked pie, pumpkin painting, and live Bluegrass by The Skally Line. This free event is made possible in part by a Thrivent Action Team donation.
Artist Cynthia Buchholz returns to the Landmark Center to host a one-day Barn Quilt Painting workshop on Sunday, Oct. 10 from 1-5 p.m. An $80 registration fee includes all of the paint, patterns, instruction and a 2×2’ pre-primed aluminum panel to create your custom Barn Quilt, ready to display indoors or outdoors. Artists Bill & Mimi Seykora will host a one-day RAKU ceramics workshop on Saturday, Oct. 16. This process involves heating of ceramic pots in outdoor kiln, then adding your unique designs using horse hair and feathers burned into the hot pot. Two firing groups will meet at 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. $35 registration fee includes a pre-made ceramic pot, all materials and instruction needed to create your Raku Pot. Space is limited, so please RSVP by calling 548-5760.

The Landmark Center will remain open during 2nd Street construction. Hours are Tuesday and Thursday from 1-4 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. 2 p.m. We are available any day by appointment.
Our facility is available for you to use for public or private gatherings, receptions, reunions, workshops, or retreats. We have 5 retreat bedrooms on 2nd floor with space for 10 overnight guests. Call 548-5760 for details.
