0Two people injured in motorcycle crash near Rothsay

Sheriff deputies, on Aug. 9, reported the theft of tools and batteries from a vehicle on Highway 3, southeast of Pelican Rapids and close to Cross Point Road.
The theft took place after a pickup was left on the side of the road following a flat tire.
Taken were Dewalt tools from the pickup box along with hammer drills and batteries. The total value was at least $1,000.
Stop signs stolen
Two railway stop signs were stolen near the intersection of Three Lakes Road and Portage Road near the town of Ottertail. The incident was reported on Aug. 9.
Temporary signs were positioned for the night. New signs were expected to be in place the following day.
There were no suspects as of 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 9.
Two injured inmotorcycle crash
Sheriff deputies, in conjunction with the Minnesota State Highway Patrol, said two people were injured in a motorcycle accident along Interstate 94 near Rothsay in western Otter Tail County.
The accident took place at 9:22 a.m. on Aug. 6.
The driver of a Honda Goldwing was traveling west on I-94 near Rothsay when he lost control due to tire failure. The motorcycle then came to a rest in the median ditch.
Seriously injured was a passenger, 48-year-old Illa Jo Roth of Rake, Iowa. Also injured, but not seriously, was the driver, 45-year-old Arnold Carl Roth, also from Rake, Iowa.
Firearms stolen
Sheriff deputies, on Aug. 6, reported the theft of six firearms from a resident who lives near Highway 210 in Otter Tail County. The approximate location was not made available.
Serial numbers were available for two of the guns. The four other serial numbers were not known.
Decorative items stolen
Several decorative items were stolen from property at Tee Lake Road, northwest of Vergas. The incident was reported on Aug. 7
Among the missing items were a metal-corrugated pine tree, a large white wooden star, and plant. There was a total value of approximately $150.
