Our annual corn and brat feed, originally scheduled for Aug. 27, has been postponed for 2021. We will plan to combine this event with our Pie and Pumpkin Oktoberfest scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 9. More details on that event to come.

Artist Mimi Seykora will host a 7-day pottery and ceramics workshop from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays in September, including Sept. 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23 and 28. A $40 fee will include materials needed to create several working using clay, pottery wheel, or hand building techniques.

Our writers group continues to meet on Tuesdays at 1 p.m. and invites you to submit your short stories related to life in the Henning area. Any older photos from our region are also welcomed for possible use in a Henning History book. Original photos may be scanned and returned to you, please contact Dan if you are willing to share these images.

Our readers group, Beverage and a Book, will meet from 2-4 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 31 to discuss “The Things I Want My Daughter To Know.” Copies of this book are available at the Landmark Center for those wishing to join the discussion. Viking Library Bookmobile visits Henning every other Tuesday, with next visit scheduled for Aug. 17 and 31, parking in front of Landmark from 3:30-4:45 p.m.

Mari Fredericks will host a Rubber Stamp Card Making workshop at the Landmark Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept.11.

Artist Mary Smith will host a one day Basket weaving workshop from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 25, featuring a 10×10” Try-A-Twill” Basket using natural and dyed Reeds. A $40 fee includes instruction and all materials needed.
