The Otter Tail Central Junior Legion stole the lead late and defeated Crookston 6-3 on Monday. OTC trailed 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth inning when Owen Buehler singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.

Crookston scored three runs in the fifth inning, but OTC  still managed to pull out the victory.  Crookston scored its runs on a single by Ashton Larsen.

OTC scored its first run in the first inning when Jayden Harig doubled.

Buehler pitched OTC to victory as he allowed five hits and three runs over five innings, striking out two.  Tyson Misegades and Gavin Pausch entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.  Pausch recorded the last out to earn the save for the Bulldogs   

OTC collected eight hits in the game with Lane Dilly, Harig and Garrett Nelson all collected multiple hits.  

Tuesday

OTC fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 12-3 loss to Aitkin on Tuesday.  Aitkin scored on a sacrifice fly by Craig Ashton in the first inning and a single by John Mcguire in the second inning.

Aitkin scored seven runs in the fifth inning.  The big inning for Aitkin came thanks to a walk by Tanner Hills, a single by Hills, and a double by Zack Ehnstrom.

Tyson Misegades took the loss for OTC. The lefthander lasted 4 2/3 innings, allowing 15 hits and 11 runs while striking out three and walking one.

Owen Harrig, Misegades, Hunter Haugen, and Jayden Harig each managed one hit to lead OTC.

Aitkin tallied 17 hits in the game.

“Aitkin is the best team we’ve seen all season.  Their lineup is really deep and they had a bunch of hard throwers on the mound.  We need to regroup and come out Wednesday with a lot of energy,” said coach Randy Misegades. 

Wednesday

OTC stole the lead late in the game in a 4-1 victory over Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton on Wednesday.  The game was tied at 1-1 with OTC batting in the bottom of the fifth when Tyson Misegades singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.

Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton fired up the offense in the first inning.  An error scored one run for Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton.

Gavin Pausch got the win for OTC as he allowed four hits and one run over seven innings, striking out one and walking one.

Misegades, Hunter Haugen, Jayden Harig, Collin Lukken, Lane Dilly, Kale Misegades, Owen Buehler, and Owen Harrig all had one hit to lead OTC. 

Following the win, OTC took on Parkers Prairie. 

Parkers Prairie scored three runs in the seventh inning and defeated OTC by a score of 5-1.  Parkers Prarie was led by Chase Thieschafer and David Revering, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Nolan Steidl was credited with the victory for Parkers Prairie.  The pitcher surrendered one run on five hits over seven innings, striking out three and walking one.

Kale Misegades took the loss for OTC as he went seven innings, allowing five runs on eight hits, striking out one and walking zero.

Tyson Misegades, Kaleb Hammes, Lane Dilly, Misegades and Gavin Pausch each managed one hit to lead OTC.

“We couldn’t ask for more out of both Gavin and Kale on the mound today. Both threw complete games. We made a few mistakes defensively that cost us and didn’t get enough timely hits,’ said coach Randy Misegades. “We ended our season 4th place in our nine team district. We return nearly our entire team for next year’s Junior Legion season.

“This was such a fun summer. I was fortunate to coach a great group of kids with phenomenal parent support. The excitement for OTC Baseball is off the charts right now and we are definitely headed in the right direction,” he continued. “I want to thank Evan Meece, Ryan Hendrickson, Dakota Aeling, Kellen Shebeck and Matt Thorson for their help and support with our teams and our ballpark. I also want to thank our parents, community members, and volunteers for their time and energy with the 15u State Babe Ruth tournament in Henning and Battle Lake. What a spectacular summer of OTC baseball.”
