Six people to compete in Little Miss Henning pageant

Four Henning area residents will be competing for the title of Henning Festival Queen on Friday night. The pageant will be held in conjunction with the Little Miss Henning pageant at 7:30 p.m. at the Henning Festival Grounds stage.

The candidates include: Aurora Cordova, Shawna O’Dea, Nella Porter, Kami Dittberner, Sheila Tierney and Emersyn Spires. Below: Alyvia Bunkowski, Emma Severson, Grace Hammer and Megan Hansen will be competing for the title of Miss Henning on Friday night. 

The two pageants are organized by Courtney Wiese, and the Miss Henning and subsequent princesses will represent the community at a number of functions throughout the year. The Little Miss Henning royalty will also represent the community at a number of events, parades and functions throughout the next 12 months.

The Henning Festival Queen candidates include Megan Hansen, Emma Severson, Grace Hammer and Alyvia Bunkowski.

Hansen is the daughter of Kelly Hansen and Ron. She said she wants to be Miss Henning to represent the community.

“I want to be Miss Henning so I can go around to other towns and represent the wonderful community I get to call home,” she said.

Severson is the daughter of Eric and Amy Severson. She wants to be Miss Henning to help promote Henning and the surrounding communities.

“I would want to be Miss Henning because it would be an opportunity for me to represent the town and promote Henning in the surrounding communities,” she said.

Hammer is the daughter of Brandi and Chris Hammer. She wants to be Miss Henning to represent the community that has been there for her all her life.

“I want to be Miss Henning because I want to represent my community that has been there for me and my family,” she said.

The final candidate is Alyvia Bunkowski. She is the daughter of Casey and Gabrielle Bunkowski. She wants to be Miss Henning to be a positive role model in the community, while also serve the people of Henning in a different capacity.

“I would like to be Miss Henning to be a positive role model in the community, have more opportunities to serve the people of Henning, and to have fun while representing my favorite place in the world,” she said. 

Six soon-to-be third graders at Henning School will be competing for the title of Little Miss Henning. The candidates include: Emersyn Spires, who is the daughter of Teri Wogan and Jamie Spires; Nella Porter, who is the daughter of Amie Johnson and Greg Loghry; Aurora Cordova, who is the daughter of Shawn Cordova; Shawna O’Dea, who is the daughter of Harly and Gary O’Dea Jr.; Sheila Tierney, who is the daughter of Michelle and Kevin Tierney and Kami Dittberner, who is the daughter of Becca Dittberner and Justin Dittberner. 

In addition to the Miss Henning pageant, the Little Miss Henning pageant will be held on Friday night.
