The Otter Tail Central 13u team swept Rothsay 9-5 and 12-5 on Monday. 

OTC’s bats came alive Monday night as they crossed the plate 21 times on 17 hits in 2 games.  Ryan Despard led the charge having 4 hits and 5 RBI.  The Bulldogs now move to 12-4 overall and have won their last 5 straight.  

In the first gameOTC jumped out to an early lead over Rothsay and took home a 9-5 victory. OTC scored on a walk by Dawson Bushman and a single by Ryan Despard in the first inning.

OTC earned the victory despite allowing Rothsay to score three runs in the fourth inning. 

OTC tallied three runs in the third inning. The offensive onslaught by OTC was led by Despard, Breidyn Solberg, and Colton Shjerve, all driving in runs in the frame.

Rowan Finseth got the win for OTC. The righthander allowed four hits and four runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out seven. Braxtyn Cameron and Despard entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Despard recorded the last out to earn the save for OTC.

Despard led OTC with two hits in two at bats. OTC stole nine bases during the game as three players stole more than one. Despard led the way with two.

In the second game, OTC defeated Rothsay 12-5.

OTC got on the board in the first inning when Rowan Finseth singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

The Bulldogs put up six runs in the second inning. The offensive onslaught by OTC was led by Colton Shjerve, Stetson Knutson, Mason Hoyt, and Ryan Despard, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Dawson Bushman earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for OTC. The righthander went two innings, allowing one run on zero hits and striking out four. Knutson, Quenton Beske, and Bradon Grabe all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.

OTC tallied 10 hits in the game with Breidyn Solberg and Despard each collecting multiple hits for OTC. Despard and Solberg each collected two hits to lead OTC. OTC stole 12 bases during the game as five players stole more than one. Finseth led the way with three.

Wednesday

OTC stole the lead late in the game in a 3-1 victory over Parkers Prairie on Wednesday. The game was tied at one with OTC batting in the top of the sixth when Bradyn Roisum singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. OTC pitchers struck out seven hitters.

Drew Evavold pitched OTC to victory by earning the 1inn save. The pitcher surrendered zero runs on zero hits over one inning, striking out two and walking one.

Ayden Olson started the game and gets the win for OTC. Olson allowed two hits and one run over six innings, striking out five and walking one

Kale Misegades, Stetson Knutson, Ryan Despard, Evavold, Roisum, Quenton Beske, and Rowan Finseth each managed one hit to lead OTC.

In the second game, OTC ran off with the lead late in the game in a 13-1 victory over Parkers Prairie. The game was tied at one with OTC batting in the top of the third when Drew Evavold singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

OTC secured the victory thanks to 10 runs in the third inning. OTC’s offense in the inning came from singles by Evavold, Ayden Olson, Quenton Beske, Colton Shjerve, and Bradon Grabe and walks by Breidyn Solberg and Kale Misegades.

OTC opened up scoring in the first inning, when Olson doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

Dawson Bushman was the third pitcher pitcher for OTC. The righty lasted one inning, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out two and walking one. Beske threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen and gets the win for OTC.

Braxtyn Cameron started the game for OTC. Cameron lasted one inning, allowing one hit and one run T started the game for Parkers Prairie. The pitcher went one inning, allowing one run on one hit
