New Ottertail business to offer healthy teas, shake options for those on the go

An Otter-this-world place to get a healthy snack on the run has opened in Ottertail.

Otter Nutrition has opened its doors on the floor level of the old Creamery building in Ottertail. The business is owned and operated by the Brian and Hannah Frederick family of Vining who have been contemplating a move into the healthy food business for quite some time.

“My mom has been thinking about it for a while,” said recent Henning High School graduate Kylie Frederick. “It’s a growing thing and there wasn’t one in Ottertail or in the area.”

Along with her sister Becca, the two Frederick’s were busy making drinks for customers of all ages during their first official day on Friday. The menu features a variety of teas and healthy shakes for the person on the go, or just looking for a way to fill up without having to turn to an unhealthy option. 

The replacement shakes are loaded with vitamins, minerals and all of them contain protein, while also being under 300 calories. 

The new Otter Nutrition also features a sitting area for those who would like to enjoy their teas and shakes, while listening to some music and out of the warm summer heat. 

The business will be open through at least the summer from Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Saturday’s from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It will be hosting its grand opening on Friday. Otter Nutrition will be hosting its open house on Friday.

Otter Nutrition also has an app that can be located in the Google Play Store and can also be found on Facebook and Instagram. The business is located at 107 W Main St, Ottertail.
