The Deer Creek Memorial Day ceremony will receive a speech from a special guest on Monday, May 31 when United States Representative Michelle Fischbach will be the featured speaker. The program will also serve as the official dedication for the Deer Creek Veterans Park, which has been constructed over the past several years.

Fischbach is a first term representative that serves Minnesota’s seventh congressional district. She defeated incumbent Collin Peterson in November 2020 to win the seat. Prior to being a US Representative, Fischbach served as the 49th lieutenant governor of Minnesota and as the first female president of the Minnesota Senate.

The program will begin at 10:30 a.m. and be held at the Deer Creek Veterans Park. Those who attend are invited to bring their own lawn chairs as seating is limited.

Prior to the Memorial Day ceremony and park dedication, a free-will donation breakfast will be held at the Deer Creek Community Center from 7:30-10 a.m.
