Bulldogs fall to 2-11 with a pair of PRC losses

0OTC to host WDC on Friday in Henning
The Otter Tail Central baseball team fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 12-1 loss to Menahga on Tuesday. Menahga scored on a double by Jack Pietila and a fielder’s choice by Ivan Anderson in the first inning.
The Bulldogs struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Menahga, giving up 12 runs.
Menahga scored four more runs in the fourth inning. The big inning for Menahga came thanks to a single by Ethan Hendrickson, a ground out by Eddie Salmen and a double by Pietila.
Salmen was the winning pitcher for Menahga. He pitched four innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out seven. Charlie Hodge threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Chris Rinicker took the loss for OTC. He surrendered ten runs on seven hits over four innings, striking out three.
Tyson Misegades went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead the Bulldogs offensively.
Menahga finished with 10 hits. Pietila and Hendrickson each racked up multiple hits for Menahga. Menahga stole seven bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Nolan Haataja led the way with two. Menahga didn’t commit a single error in the field. Anderson had the most chances in the field with seven.
Friday
OTC fell to 2-11 on the season as they dropped a Park Region Conference game against Pillager on Friday night.
Pillager got its offense started in the first inning when Conner Hanson drove in one run on a Hanson single.
The Huskies pulled away for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third inning Cole Hiltner singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run, Eli Miller doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs, and Eli Shingledecker grounded out, scoring one run.
Gabe Grimsley was the winning pitcher for Pillager. The pitcher lasted six innings, allowing eight hits and four runs while striking out eight. Miller threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Miller recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Pillager.
Kayne Cameron took the loss for the Bulldogs. The pitcher lasted five innings, allowing nine hits and six runs while striking out three and walking zero.
OTC collected ten hits as a team with Cian Buehler and Lane Dilly managing multiple hits in the game. Buehler led the Bulldogs with three hits in four at bats.
Pillager totaled 11 hits. Griffin Decker, Miller, and Tytan Skeesick each had multiple hits for Pillager. Decker went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Pillager in hits.
