Poser, Schleske place third at super section meet

In the last 1 ½ weeks, the OTC Bulldogs competed in the 6A Section team tournament, section individual qualifier, and the 5A/6A Super Section State preliminary qualifier. 

In the team part of Section 6A, the Bulldogs fell to Pelican Rapids 30-49. The Bulldogs defeated Pelican Rapids earlier in the year by a similar score, both teams came in with some changes. It proved to be the coin flip to be the deciding factor, as Pelican Rapids got the chance to get the match ups they wanted. The Bulldogs tried to play catch up from the start of the match, but fell short. 

The Section 6A Individual Qualifier gave the opportunity for the Bulldogs to send five wrestlers to the Super Section State preliminary qualifier. Three Bulldogs made the finals; Brien Poser at 132, Reed Leabo at 138, and Tristan Evavold at 182. Logan Schleske at 145 and Jaxon Rich at 160 qualified by wrestling and getting to the consolation finals. 

At the 5A/6A Super Section State preliminary qualifier, the Bulldogs had four of five wrestlers place in the top four, which made them the top 16 wrestlers in the state. Brien Poser placed third, Reed Leabo placed fourth, Logan Schleske placed fourth, and Jaxon Rich placed third. Rich also had the opportunity to wrestle for true second, but came up short to qualify the state final eight tournament. 

Although this was a rebuilding year for the Bulldogs, they found a lot of success on the mat and with a great core of wrestlers returning, the Bulldogs should have another solid 2021-22 season.
