Henning School will receive several upgrades, including new LED lighting, as part of a facility improvement project plan.
During its regularly scheduled meeting last Monday night, the Henning School Board approved up to $371,200 in upgrades at Henning School as part of a Facility Improvement Measure Summary. The plan was developed in a partnership with McKinstry and will complete several projects in the near future.
Among the projects being proposed by the plan was installing destratification fans in both school gymnasiums to minimize warm air stratification at the ceiling at a cost of $54,600, upgrading the lighting throughout the school with LED lights at a cost of $230,000, weatherization at a cost of $43,300 and demolishing a chimney at a cost of $33,700.
If the district completes all of the projects there is an annual estimated utility savings of $11,130 and potential incentives of $12,240.
The school board moved forward with the projects and will begin working on them this summer.
