The Otter Tail Central Bulldogs fell to ranked BBE and Royalton/Upsala Friday night, as end of the season is in sight. 

The Bulldogs were defeated 12-63 by BBE and 9-63 by Royalton/Upsala in at BBE on Friday. Both of these teams are possible contenders to reach the final four of the state tournament this year.  

In a normal season, the Bulldogs would have a quarter of their schedule built to dual powerhouse teams. This year is an exception due to only being able to wrestle teams in a triangular. As a result, over half of their schedule consist of powerhouse teams. This proves to be difficult for the average and below average teams to just find matches for the wrestlers and to keep individuals positive on the mat. 

Individual tournaments allow flexibility in finding ability level to build wrestlers on levels. The Bulldogs continue to battle and grow, even though it is not a perfect season and competition is tough.

Key wrestlers this week were Tristan Evavold and Logan Schleske and the younger wrestlers continue to get valuable mat time. 

Up next for the Bulldogs will be triangular at Wadena-Deer Creek on Tuesday, Feb. 23 and New York Mills on Thursday, Feb. 24. The Bulldogs will wrestle at 6 p.m.and 7 p.m., tentatively, in both the triangular events.
