Henning picked up a pair of wins last week. 

On Tuesday the Hornets defeated Rothsay by a score of 72-68 in overtime.

On Thursday Henning picked up its second straight win as the Hornets defeated Bertha-Hewitt by a score of 71-45. The win improves the Hornets to 2-1 overall and 1-1 in the PRC.

The Hornets jumped out to a big 45-23 lead at halftime behind some slick shooting inside the 3-point line. The Hornets went 26-43 from 2-point shots and just 3-20 from behind the 3-point line. The Hornets finished the game by shooting 46 percent from the field and had 14 assists as a team.

“We did a decent job getting to the basket during the first half, but struggled to knock down some shots from the perimeter,” said Head Coach Randy Misegades. “We had some nice stretches defensively, but need to be more consistent with our effort on that end of the floor.”

Tanner Arndt led the way offensively with 20 points and had 6 assists. Mason Hammer finished with 15 points, while Tyson Misegades also reached double figures with 13 points and Joe Angell scored 10 points on just 4-6 shooting from the field.

Kale Misegades finished with 7 points, Ethan Houselog scored 4 points and Keegan Shaw finished with 2 points in the win. 

This week the Hornets will travel to Menahga on Tuesday and Pillager on Friday in a pair of PRC tilts. On Monday the Hornets will host Battle Lake in non-conference action.
