The Henning girls basketball team will open their regular season on Thursday night in New York Mills against the Eagles. The two teams will be required to wear masks during the game under new guidelines from the Minnesota Department of Health. Last season the Hornets advanced to the Class A state semi-finals before the state tournament was abruptly canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was the first-ever trip for Henning to the girls state basketball tournament as the finished with a record of 29-2 overall and 13-1 in the Park Region Conference.
