Henning School
What a wonderful time it is in the Henning Public School library.
Recently we have had three fabulous businesses sponsor books for the library. Simonson Lumber of Alexandria, Minn., sponsored four books, Ziegler Cat of Fergus Falls, sponsored nine books, and Hilltop Lumber of Alexandria, Minn., sponsored four books. With their sponsorship, these books will have their business logo inside the jacket cover of each book.
Simonson Lumber chose to purchase books about building. The four books they sponsored are Carpenter’s Helper by Sybil Rosen, Construction Manager by B. Keith Davidson, Construction Worker Tools by Laura Hamilton Waxman, and Frank, Who liked to Build written by Deborah Blumenthal. These books will be located in the Junior nonfiction shelves.
Ziegler Cat wanted to books about machines they work on so they sponsored Backhoes by Kathryn Clay, Balers by Conor Dayton, Balers by Kersty Holmes, Bedtime for Little Bulldozer by Elise Broach, Cement Mixers at Work by D. R. Addison, Combines by Kirsty Homes, Cranes by Kathryn Clay, Crop Sprayers by Heather Kissock, and Cultivators by Heather Kissock. These also will be located in the junior nonfiction section.
Hilltop Lumber wants to encourage students to want to be in the construction trades so they sponsored the books Be a Construction Equipment Operator by Wil Mara, Be a Construction Manager by Wil Mora, Buildings and Structures by Tom Jackson, and Built Together by Mina Starsiak. These books will be housed on the elementary/junior high side of the library.
Because the current junior non fiction and elementary fiction library books are aged at 33 years, these new books will be highly sought after for check out. We are striving to have both factual books on subjects that are important to the students, as well as wonderful fiction stories that help them to want to explore the nonfiction sections. We are anxiously looking forward to the reaction of the students when they come to the library. It is wonderful to see the new books being put onto the shelves, waiting for the students to check them out.
The next open library day is July 26. The library will be open from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and we hope you will find your way up to visit with us.
