The new village well has been pumped and approved with plenty of good water available. There is about 60 feet of water in the well that goes down 87 ½ feet, the same depth of the old well, leading to the belief that the same vein was struck. The new addition to the present pumphouse is being built this week to house the water softening equipment and other machinery.
Many deer wounded by slugs. Up until noon Tuesday there were 34 deer checked in at the Henning locker plant, which indicated but fair success by hunters in this area, considering the large number who bought licenses. Most of the hunters from Henning had their best luck south of town, although a number of deer were taken in the west, north and eastern areas too.

She gave him just enough time to get the cider in one hand and the lamp in the other, and then shouted “Murder.” she had calculated well. The doomed man sprang up from the steps, the lamp fell and the woman was free!
