0To the Editor,
Concerning the upcoming “RE” Vote to spend 27 million of our dollars to make the Henning School look “better.” Much of the rhetoric I’ve been reading seems to have more to do with aesthetics than education.
A recent article in the Epoch Times, telling how attendance in public schools across the nation has been slowly dropping since the “virus,” but attendance at church and private schools has been increasing. How come no data on Henning’s enrollment over the past 10 or so years? We have lived in this community 50 years and I have commuted all of my working years to other cities to work. Henning is basically a “bedroom” community, shouldn’t we instead be trying to bring in an industry or two? Perham, Wadena and New York Mills come to mind. That is what attracts families (and students).
This “Re” Vote does not appear to bode well. Please vote NO again.
Roger Lonnstrom,
Henning
