Shockers upend Pirates 4-3 for ninth win of the season

Ashton Detloff made his Deer Creek debut and helped the Shockers secure a big 4-3 win over Perham on Friday night. Detloff pitched seven innings and gave up just three runs. Nolan Coyle actually picked up the win on the mound as he pitched two scoreless innings in relief to help secure the win.

Colby Schertler led the offense by picking up three hits and scoring a pair of runs.
On Sunday the Shockers swept a doubleheader with Vergas to improve to 9-3 on the season.
In the opening game of the night, Conner Dutke made his Deer Creek debut on the mound and pitched six solid innings by striking out six and allowing no runs. Nolan Coyle struck out a pair of batters in a scoreless seventh inning.
Ben Kreklau and Colby Shertler each collected a pair of hits in the win.
In the second game the Shockers bats came alive as Lane Dilly went 2-4 with four RBIs and a home run. He also secured the win on the mound as he pitched five innings, striking out five and not surrendering a run.
Chaz Eckhoff finished off the game by throwing a scoreless sixth inning and striking out one hitter.
Deer Creek will return to action on Wednesday when they host Dent.
