Lake Region Healthcare (LRH) has announced three more additions to the provider team offering care at the Fergus Falls Cancer Center, Emergency Department and Chiropractic Clinic. 

“We are pleased to continue growing access to the primary and specialty care services our communities need,” said LRH CEO Kent Mattson. 

Jessica Engel, NP

Jessica Engel, NP is a highly experienced cancer care provider who comes to our cancer center after over 18 years at Marshfield Clinic Cancer Services in Stevens Point, Wis. She received her Doctorate of Nursing Practice at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire and her Master of Science in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at the university of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. She is an Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and an Oncology Nurse Navigator – Certified Generalist by the Academy of Oncology Nurse & Patient Navigators. 

Engel was awarded the Oncology Nurse Excellence Award by the National Academy of Oncology Nurse and Patient Navigators in 2014 and received the Wisconsin Women’s Health Foundation “Champion of Women’s Health” award in 2015. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her pets and volunteering for the Humane Society, reading, and sewing custom sleep caps, day hats and port pockets to donate to cancer patients.

Dr. Castrenze Fricano

Dr. Castrenze Fricano joins the team of highly trained local emergency providers at our Level 3 Trauma Emergency Department in Fergus Falls. 

Dr. Fricano received his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Minnesota Medical School Duluth Campus and completed his Emergency Medicine residency at the University of Washington, Seattle. He also holds a certificate in Paramedical Science from Crowder College in Neosho, Mo., and his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. 

After spending a summer internship at Lake Region Healthcare in 2016 he returned to participate in the Rural Physician Associate program in 2017. He has special interest in the areas of critical care and prehospital medicine. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter exploring all that Fergus Falls has to offer.

Dr. Simon Erlandson

Dr. Simon Erlandson has joined the team at Lake Region Healthcare’s recently acquired chiropractic clinic with Dr. Randy Carlson, at 301 E Lincoln Ave in Fergus Falls.  

A Fergus Falls native, Dr. Erlandson received is Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) at Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, Minn. and also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science and Biology from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn. 

He has over eight years of chiropractic care experience and works with all ages to identify neuromuscular and spine conditions and offers corrective adjustments and treatments in a person-centered manner. Along with Dr. Carlson, the clinic’s philosophy is built on strong patient to doctor relationships and facilitating the best possible health outcomes. 

He is married to Anna and in his spare time he enjoys hiking with their dog, skiing (water and mountain), hunting, lake time, kayaking, travelling, basketball, biking, and weight lifting.
