The Otter Tail Central girls and boys cross country teams took second place at the Ashby/Brandon-Evansville Invite on Tuesday. 

Nora Froslee was the top runner for the girls team as the freshman took second place, behind just Katie Frank-Holzner of Hillcrest. Froslee finished with a time of 20:40. 

Froslee was followed by Erika Heibel who finished in eighth place with a time of 22:09, Kyleigh Shebeck who finished in 12th place with a time of 23:04, Laney Frost finished in 15th place with a time of 23:49, Emily Christensen finished in 20th place with a time of 25:26, Delia Tebrugge finished in 21st place with a time of 25:35 and Allyson Goodman finished in 23rd place with a time of 27:11.

The girls team trailed just Wadena-Deer Creek as a team as the Bulldogs finished with a team total of 42 points. The Wolverines took first place at the meet with 22 points, while New York Mills took third place with 71 points.

On the boys side, freshman Peter Newark led the way with a fourth place finish. Newark finished with a time of 17:46.

Fellow freshman Talyn Setterholm took ninth place with a time of 18:34, while senior Joseph Froslee took 11th place with a time of 18:39, Jonas Hagemeister took 13th place with a time of 18:59, Aidan Heggem took 15th place with a time of 19:23, August Wicklund took 23rd place with a time of 20:53 and Nathan Russ took 25th place with a time of 21:15.

The Bulldogs finished in second place at the meet with 52 points, while Bertha-Hewitt took first place with 27 points. Wadena-Deer Creek finished in third place with 70 points, Brandon-Evansville took fourth place with 104 points, Parkers Prairie took fifth place with 109 points and New York Mills took sixth place with 154 points.

This week the Bulldogs will compete at United North Central on Tuesday, before preparing for the section meet next week.
